Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon Rolls

Put 1 pkg. Yeast into ¾ cup warm water and proof with ½ tsp. Sugar. Set aside.

½ cup shortening
¼ cup sugar
2 ¼ cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
cinnamon & sugar

Mix all ingredients minus half the flour at low speed for 1 minute. Add remaining flour. Gently and briefly stir. Let rise 1 hour. Split dough in half and roll out with plenty of flour to ¼ inch thickness. (Handle dough as little as possible.) Butter top of dough and sprinkle plenty of cinnamon and sugar on top. Roll dough up and cut into slices with dental floss or string. Grease baking dish and set slices in. Allow them to rise till double (2 hours). Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
